Wagga Wagga means 'Crow Crow' in aboriginal or the place of many crows.

The city, known as " The Capital of Inland New South Wales" is the largest populated centre in the interior of NSW and an important agricultural and commercial centre in the Riverina region.

Wagga Wagga's strategic importance is reinforced further as it geographically between Melbourne and Sydney. It is also a short distance from the Hume Highway which connects the two cities and makes Wagga Wagga an ideal freight transport and distributuon hub.

This is a city of gardens which is exemplified by the Botanic Gardens which includes desert plants and species from Africa, China, Europe and the Americas.

Murrumbidgee River

Walking trails criss-cross the park and there is even a walk-in avery, a zoo and miniature railway.

The Murrumbidgee River flows through the city and as well giving it an agreeable backdrop provides fishing, water sports and pleasant riverbank walking.

The city also has a reputation for both the visual and performing arts.

There is no shortage of accommodation, restaurants, theatres and bars.

Further afield are the small towns of Coolamon, Lockhart (which has a National Trust listed early 1900's Streetscape), Temora , Narrandera and Junee.

The region is ideally placed mid way ( about a five hours drive) between Melbourne and Sydney along the Hume Highway
