Sydney Beaches
Sydney is a city of contrasts, from its modern skyline, hustling business district (or CBD), to its illustrious beaches of which Bondi and Palm Beach are but two of many. Sydney siders are lucky as the beaches are only minutes away so a weekend morning browsing round the Rocks market and an afternoon at a beach, say Manly, is perfectly feasible.

Sydney's Icons
Sydney is probably most famous for its Opera House which stands proudly on the harbour basking in the flash lights of the literally millions of photographs taken annually by tourists and locals alike. The Opera House has a year round programme of events and guided tours. There are many places to eat, even more now that Opera walk has become established. This is a precinct of boutique shops, cafes, bars and restaurants beneath luxurious apartments and leads from Circular Quay to the Opera House . Opposite The Opera House is the equally famous Harbour Bridge. This can be seen from the ground, again the Rocks is a good vantage point, walked upon or even walked over. The Harbour Bridge Climb is one of the cities most popular tourist activities offering guided tours over the spans of the bridge. If you have a head for heights you can marvel at the engineering achivement and the great view at the same time.

Great Food
The same can be said for places to eat. Australia has won a deserved reputation for its superb and innovative cuisine. The cultural fusions have created a unique blend of tastes from traditional Fish and Chips to some of the best Laskas you could hope to eat. The Rocks is a good place to explore if you are looking for good food. This is where you will find the multi award winning Rockpool owned by acclaimed chef, food writer and broadcaster Neil Perry. | |

Getting Around
There are many ways to get around Sydney , by helicopter, aircraft, Ferry , car, Harley Davidson, amphibious vehicle or by foot. A monorail runs a short circular route stopping at Darling Harbour/Cockle Wharf , a playground of new complexes, cafes and restaurants. The Sydney Light Rail , NSW State Rail and City Bus networks are extensive allowing you to travel from the city centre to Bondi Junction (for easy access to Bondi itself) for example or out to the suburbs. Try Chatswood which is a small but booming business and shopping (great shopping) centre on the leafy North Shore.
