Parrammatta

To the west of Sydney, and shown centrally on the map, is the City of Parrammatta which is fast becoming an important commercial centre to rival even Sydney itself. The city has good road links to the north and south and is home to the famous Parrammatta Eels Rugby League Club and one of the biggest indoor shopping malls in the southern hemisphere.

Olympic Park

The map also shows Olympic Park which was the site of the Sydney Australia Olympic Games in 2000. The park is an impressive attraction with many stadia and exhibition halls. Sporting fixtures and concerts are held at the venue which includes the Telstra Stadium (formerly Stadium Australia) as its centre piece. Tours operate round the park and depart from Circular Quay as well as at the site itself.
