St Leonards Overview
St Leonards is located on The Pacific Highway close to Crows Nest, a few km north of Sydney. Both St Leonards and Crows Nest are primarily residential and business districts.
Like Chatswood, several km further north up the Pacific Highway, St Leonards is another of the North Shore's important business districts.
Several multi national companies have their headquarters here, including Three (the mobile phone company), Cisco, and IBM.
St Leonards also has one of the campuses of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), which is adjacent to the Royal North Shore Hospital
Like Sydney as a whole, the St Leonards area has a good reputation for its abundance and quality of restaurants; justifiable as there are over 100 restaurants, cafes and bars here.
Practically every nationality of dining is represented including Modern Australian, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Lebanese, Malaysian, Mexican, Nepalese, Spanish, Sri Lankan, Thai and Vietnamese !
The Forum
A relatively recent development in St Leonards is the Forum which incorporates the railway station, business and residential developments.
The Forum is bounded by three sides by high, modern looking residential and office towers whilst the third side is the entrance to the railway station.
The perimeter is surrounded by cafes and food outlets and a large oval shaped pool in the centre provides both seating around its edge as well as a pleasant water feature.
Scattered throughout the plaza are umbrella shaded seating areas and palm trees which are usually occupied by office workers and residents taking a break.
Royal North Shore Hospital
The Royal North Shore Hospital is located in St leonards, adjacent to the Station forum.
This famous institution is a teaching hospital for several universities and has gained an illustrious reputation for the quality of its patient care and medical research.

Nilgiri's is consistently voted one of the Best Indian Restaurants in Sydney. The stylish, modern restaurant serves mouth watering dishes from all over India. Take away is also available and the food is also sold in the Sydney David Jones Food Hall amongst some other outlets. What sets this restaurant really apart is that they also offer cookery lessons so you can learn to cook your favourite dishes at home. Nilgiri's is located near the Pacific Highway side of Christie Street and if you are arriving on the train exit the station into the Forum and head for the far right corner near the supermarket.
