The accommodation bungalows are equipped with microwave, fridge, kettle, dishes and all cutlery, shower, toilet, air conditioning, telephone, king-size beds, TV and balcony everything you need to make yourself at home. No real Aussie house is complete without a "Barbie" and there is one at Mountain View lodge for you to use. Alternatively as the accommodation is only 15 or so minutes drive from Port Douglas it is easy to visit one of the many restaurants in the town.
The garden, accessible to the accommodation bungalows, has a variety of unique tropical plants and fruits. The miracle fruit (after it is eaten one can drink vinegar and it tastes like good sweet wine!), brasil cherries (very high in Vitamin C), all manner of citrus fruit, mulberry, cacao trees and coffee trees etc.. Every evening 2 species of native birds visit (Kookaburra and Curlew)
Mountain View Lodge accommodation and Oak Beach is perfectly located to explore Tropical North Queensland. Cairns and Port Douglas are within a short drive away along the beautiful Captain Cook Highway. The towns offer a refreshing contrast.
Port Douglas is regarded as a chic and stylish resort with something of a 'film star' reputation. US Presidents amongst others have been known to stay there.
Cairns on the other hand is a breezy and relatively large centre with plenty to occupy the visitors. Both towns offer Great Barrier Reef excursions as the reef is literally just off shore.
