Mildura Overview

The Whitsunday Islands, Queensland Sydney, New South Wales Hobart Tasmania Melbourne Victoria Adelaide South Australia Perth Western Australia Alice Springs Northern Territory Broome Western Australia Cairns , Queensland Darwin Northern Territory Brisbane, Queensland Canberra, ACT

Mildura is near the Murray River section of the New South Wales border (the river forms the state boundary with Victoria up until Albury-Wodonga and then heads south to Mount Beauty) so a trip on the Mighty Murray is a popular choice for a holiday if you are visiting this region.

If you alight at Mildura it is possible to indulge in cruises on the Murray River.

Cruises may be taken for a few hours or be enjoyed over a full week, taking in hundreds of miles of the river as it carves its way between New South Wales and Victoria.

Mildura Wineries

Mildura is famed for its citrus cultivation and of course its wineries.

Some of Australia's biggest and also most well known wineries are based here because of the excellent conditions for grape cultivation.

Surrounded By National Parks

Mildura is not a naturally lush area. Irrigation schemes have benefited Mildura's agriculture considerably since this is naturally quite an arid region.

Sixty miles south along the Calder and at the junction with the Mallee Highway is Ouyen. The town is surrounded by national parks, namely The Hattah-Kulkyne, The Murray Sunset and The Wyperfield which is located in the 'big dessert' area.

Mildura accommodation

Mildura has a good selection of accommodation as it has the draw cards of The Murry River and its wineries.

See our general Mildura accommodation for hotels and resorts.

Location
