Registered Australian Migration Agents are usually based in Australia which is an advantage as most visa applications are now lodged in Australia itself. Also registered agents have direct access to case officers which can be difficult for members of the public. Our migration agent will liaise with you in your home country by registered mail, by telephone and email so there is no disadvantage if you are not in Australia.
An individual migration agent will work on many cases a year and will be experienced in the subtleties and pitfalls of migration legislation. Completing Australian migration applications and assessments is their profession. Your first (and usually only) experience of the nuances of migration law is when you decide to migrate.
Australian Migration Law is a complex and constantly changing field. There are currently:

The role of a Registered Migration Agent is to provide migration advice. They are also authorised to process and lodge visa application on their clients behalf. All persons offering migration advice, even if it is given feely or a fee is charged, who legally operate within the Australian Migration Zone must:
Migration legislation is a complex subject and registered agents must demonstrate usually be written examination that they are qualified in Australian Migration Law.
Registered Australian Migration agents Must be registered with the MARA, The Migration Agents Registration Authority. All registered agents will have a seven figure registration number.
All agents must re register each year after demonstrating they have kept abreast with changing legislation (see below).
Migration agents must maintain a continual professional development programme and acquire points by attending accredited seminars, briefings etc in various topics of Australian migration law.
Registered Migration Agents must abide by a code of conduct which will be presented once you engage an agent for any migration advice.
Although not mandatory, many agents (including the auinfo migration agent) are members of the Migration Institute of Australia. This provides training courses, assistance to migration agents etc
