Blackwood Cottages

This 4 1/2 star fully self accommodation offer self contained cottages, all with two bedrooms and modern facilities. The cottages, located around 1 1/2 hours from the centre of Melbourne, all have queen size beds in the main bedroom, the other bedrooms have either three single beds or two single beds or one has two queen size beds plus a single bed.

Two acres of gardens

The accommodation is set in over two acres of gardens which are spectacular in colour in Autumn. King Parrots may come to your verandah to be hand-fed with seed provided by your hosts In the region there is skiing ( in season), golf, bushwalking, fishing, tennis, horse riding, wildlife, wineries, restaurants and much more.

There are two undercover BBQ's located in the gardens for your use. There is a swing, totem tennis and best of all, plenty of space outside to run around. There are also two tennis courts for guests.

Facilities

Facilities include - full size stove - microwave oven - washing machine (in six of the cottages) - remote colour television, DVD, CD & video players - six have dishwashers - good heating and cooling, all have reverse cycle air conditioning, plus other heating - hair dryers - iron and ironing boards - blankets - pillows - doonas. There is also a communal laundry with electric clothes dryer and drying room.

Linen and towels are included. Electric blankets are fitted to all beds. Cots and high chairs are available. A light breakfast basket can be provided on request

There is a comprehensive folder in each cottage, with all walking maps, commercial brochures, some suggested day trips and places of interest to visit. After your trip to the snow, all that wet gear can be dried in the drying room.

An on-site phone enables you to keep in touch with the outside world. If you are arriving late, a platter from a local restaurant can be delivered to your cottage.

Falls Road is easy to find. When you arrive in Marysville, travel down the main street, (Murchison Street) past the first roundabout at the Hotel and turn right at the Bakery. Immediately turn left and you are in Falls Road. Blackwood Cottages are on your right.

(Falls Road is so named because it is the road to the famous floodlit Steavenson Falls)
