Fraser Island, near Sun Shine Coast
Fraser Island is located off Queensland's Fraser Coast which is just north of The Sunshine Coast. It is just over 20Km wide and 120 Km long. The island is World Heritage protected and is an area of stunning natural beauty. There are scores of fresh water inland pools, old growth rainforests, as well as an abundance of wild animals including Dingos. Fraser is reached from the mainland (at Hervey Bay) by ferries and 4WD's can drive along the beaches. There is a accommodation and camping on the island
