Watsons Bay is one of the affluent 'Eastern Suburbs',close to Double Bay and Rose Bay, which have magnificent views over Sydney Harbour, making this some of the most expensive real estate in Australia. The main tourist attraction here is 'The Gap' which is provides spectacular views over the cliff tops. There are also fascinating reminders of Australia's early days of European settlement with well preserved gun positions set up to defend Sydney from invasion. For the naturalist there is also a nudist beach here. This is a good spot to indulge in a lazy Sunday stroll along the cliff top walks, down to the World famous Doyles Fish Restarant for a long lunch gazing over towards Sydney. Then one will appreciate why the houses are so expensive here.
