Warracknabeal, 220 miles
north east of Melbourne, is a small town on the banks of Yarriambiack Creek.
The town has several National Trust listed buildings and the Agricultural
Machinery Museum which details the Australian wheat industry. The Historical
Centre has recreations of period scenes to provide an insight to how life
was lived in the last century as well as collections of clocks and household
furniture. A tour of The Log Gaol is interesting if one considers it was
still in use only 40 or so years ago. Yarriambiack Creek provides for picnic
spots, gardens and walking trails. There is a small selection of accommodation
ranging from hotels, B&B's to a caravan park.
