Sydney Airport is the first port of call for many visitors to Australia. This is particularly fitting since the airport is situated on Botany Bay, the landing point for Captain Cook. The only international airport in Sydney has recently undergone major upgrades to cope with anticipated demand from the Olympics. Transport to and from Sydney has been made that much easier by the direct rail link to Sydney Central Station. Trains operate very regularly and the station is located within the airport complex. Alternatively hire cars, taxis and buses operate regular shuttles to and from Sydney and the surrounding suburbs. There is a small selection of hotels at the airport.
