The small town of Sorell is situated on 'Pitt Water', 16 miles north east of Hobart. The shop is reknown for its antique shops and the famous and historic 'Blue Bell Inn'. There are several beaches, a bird sanctuary and a vineyard nearby. There is a small but cosy selection of accommodation here.
The small fishing port Triabunna is another 30 miles north east of Sorrell. There are many attractive walks, beaches and historic sites. Boats operating from the town provides access to the beautiful and well protected, since no cars are allowed, Maria Island national park. The island is the habitat to an abundance of bird species and native Australian animals including Kangaroos and Emus.
