Port Lincoln is just about
at the tip of the Eyre Peninsula and situated on the vast natural harbour
of Boston Bay. Since Australia's largest comercial tuna fishing fleet and
fish farming are based here the town is famous for its excellent seafood.
There are superior coastal drives to and from the town taking in stunning
coastal views over the Boston Bay, Spencer Gulf or Southern Ocean. You can
stop at superb beaches or in secluded coves. Boston Bay can be explored
on a cruise and is also excellent for a whole manner of water sports. The
town surrounds the water of Boston and Porter Bays and there are waterside
walking trails as well as several parks and reserves. This is understandably
a popular holiday destination and offers a fine base if you wish to explore
the wonders of the Eyre Peninsula.
