About The Eyre Peninsula, S.A

S.A MAP ABOUT HOTELS CAMPING RESTAURANTS

The Eyre Peninsula is the region extending from the Nullarbor Plains in the west to the 'India' shaped promontory formed between the towns of Port Augusta, Port Lincoln and Ceduna. The area is around 400 miles from Adelaide and is popular for fishing, its beaches, whale watching and as a staging post for those wishing to cross into Western Australia. Its west coast can be explored by the Lincoln Highway. There are many towns and lookouts to stop or stay at. Two examples are Whyalla which offers tours of a working steel plant and Cowell which is famed its opals and white sand. As a rule the Spencer Gulf offers excellent fishing. Travel north from Port Lincoln up the Flinders Highway this time with the magnificent Great Australian Bight to your left. Again there is much to see and do on the way. Coffin Bay is a centre for oyster farming, Eliston is renown for surfing and fishing and Ceduna is a base for whale spotting. From Ceduna you head west across Yalata Land and then the Nullarbor Plains which stretch to the WA border.
