VICTORIA MAP ABOUT HOTELS CAMPING RESTAURANTS

Dandenong is a small town 30 miles south east of Melbourne. The Dandenong Ranges National Park (or Dandenongs),a few miles to the north, offers a beautiful natural retreat from the bustling activity of Melbourne. The area is dense with wildlife, birds, trees, beautiful gardens and vegetation of all types. The relatively hilly landscape is capped by Mount Dandenong which provides magnificent views of Melbourne, especially at night. A popular draw is the Puffing Billy narrow gauge steam train which makes the stately nine mile journey between Belgrave and Emerald lake. Alternatively there is a tourist drives through the park and plenty of opportunity for walking. Several small towns are scattered throughout the area such as the pretty Olinda. The Dandenongs close proximity to Melbourne makes it an ideal place for a day trip but accommodation is plentiful with many traditional homes being converted into small hotels, guest houses or restaurants.
