Augusta is 200 miles south of Perth and is located at the head of the Blackwood River on Flinders Bay. To the south of the town is Cape Leeuwin a magnificent national park in which a lighthouse, scores of caves, Australian wildlife and a unique 'fossilised' waterwheel can be found. The coastal location makes Augusta an ideal dolphin and whale watching base. Augusta was also an early British settlement and evidence of this can be found at several heritage exhibits and museums. The town also has a golf course, good fishing, plenty of walking through national parks and along the stunning coast and a multitude of water based activities.
