Victoria Overview
Victoria is the smallest and most densely populated of the mainland states in Australia (the island state of Tasmania, offshore to the south is smaller).
The Murray River starts in the Snowy Mountain region of New South Wales and much of its length as it flows north west towards South Australia, forms the natural state border between southern New South Wales and Victoria.
The Murray combines with the Darling river and the Mighty Murray Darling River system has always featured rich in Australian folk lore.
It is easy to travel around this compact State, affectionately called the Garden State, and Victoria is perfect for a touring holiday as it is complimented by a comprehensive road network.
