The small settlement of Poatina is 45 miles south of Launceston and has views towards the city and Ben Lomond. A few miles south there is a scenic lookout at Mt Blackwood. The settlement has a very small amount of accommodation.
Ben Lomond is Tasmania's premier ski area. There are six ski lifts, an alpine village at the base of the mountain and a variety of accommodation.
