No Trees  The Nullarbor which means "no trees" in Latin is one of Australia's legendary road journeys. The 'Eyre Highway' offers spectacular views over the Great Australian Bight. In broad terms this is the only southern road connecting East to West, starting at Norseman south of Kalgoolie and finishing at Port Augusta. However, the complete Adelaide to Perth route is 1693 miles. Fully Sealed Road The road is fully sealed and is perfectly safe for the well-prepared and sensible driver. Australia has a slogan for long distant driving, STOP, REVIVE, SURVIVE , and always refuel (including water supplies) at every opportunity. An Eerie Beauty Nullarbor is a National Park, comprising mostly of desert with patches of wilderness scrub. It has an eerie beauty; desolate plains stretching as far as the eye can see and a mixture of skies and sands amalgamating in a real sense of adventure. Great Australian Bight On rare occasions the road will double as a "runway" for the flying doctor. There are several lookout points spread over a distance of 50 miles, a small diversion, but worth the effort as they offer breathtaking views overlooking the Great Australian Bight. There are several journeys in Australia that are a must, and this is one of them but only if you are  well prepared for potentially hazardous conditions.
