Norseman Overview
The mining centre of Norseman is 730km ( 450 miles east ) of Perth and as it is situated at the junction of the Eyre, Eastern and South Coast Highways it is a popular stop off for those travelling to and from the east.
Gold and Gem Stones
The town is surrounded by the giant Dundas and Cowan Salt Lakes.
Norseman is known for its gold, quartz and other gemstones and is subsequently a magnet for prospectors and gem collectors hoping to try their luck.
Esperance and Kalgoorlie
100 km ( 60 miles ) further south is the coastal town of Esperance and approximately the same distance north is Kalgoorlie.
Both routes lead to Perth.

Perth Airport, which has both international and domestic terminals, is around 15km (9 miles) north east of the city, along the Great Eastern Highway.
The journey should take approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Taxis, hire cars and airport shuttle buses are available.
