Manly Overview
Manly is a pleasurable 30 minute ferry ride away from Circular Quay in Sydney but seems a world away with its relaxed beach holiday resort atmosphere. Situated on the neck of the promontory separating Sydney Harbour from the Pacific Ocean, Manly has almost an island feel reinforced by both inland water and ocean frontages. It has been written that Manly is "Seven miles from Sydney and a thousand miles from Care"
When embarking from the ferry terminal a ten minute stroll will take you, through the main pedestrian precinct, called the Corso, to the beach front. Manly's tree lined promenade has a fantastic selection of cafes, restaurants and accommodation.

The maze of historic buildings, at the Quarantine Station, protected the city from epidemic diseases such as the bubonic plague, cholera and small pox from migrants entering its shores.
