Beaconsfield is located at the western side of the Tamar River some 40Km (25 miles) north of Launceston and 240Km (150 miles) north of Hobart. This historic town primarily developed out of gold mining, however although most supplies have been exhausted, limited prospecting still continues.
The Grubb Shaft Museum has many exhibits and preserved structures dedicated to the former glory days of gold mining. There is a small selection of accommodation. See map.
Launceston has hotels in waterside and city locations. Click here for full list of Launceston Hotels. Hotels in some popular regions of Launceston are listed below for your convenience.
