Kings Cross is known for being a centre for backpackers, singles and travelers hostels and also for its 'colourful' nightlife . Known as 'The Cross' by the locals the area has nightclubs, strip joints, cafes and restaurants and is instantly identifiable by the large red 'Coca Cola' sign at the top of William Street. Every City has a 'red light' district like this and it is sensible to be 'street wise'.
Potts Point is next to Kings Cross and has a reputation for its fine hotels and restaurants. This is a more salubrious area and is popular as a base for some of the pop and rock stars which frequently play in Sydney. Both Potts Point and Kings Cross provide good access to Bondi Beach and Central Sydney
