Chatswood is a one of Sydney's significant business and shopping districts. If you are driving, it is situated on the Pacific Highway, a few miles north from the Harbour Bridge and if you take a train it is a 5-10 minute trip via the Northern Line. The station is built into a shopping centre so you can start straight away or set yourself up with a coffee. Chatswood's impressive skyline is dominated by gleaming office buildings, not unlike that of the main Sydney CBD, and can be seen from miles away. There is some wonderful shopping here for example at the massive Westfield Centre and the chic Chatswood Chase where you will find designer and famous name stores such as Villeroy and Boch. The main shopping precinct, which links the main shopping centres is pedestrianised and has a weekend market. Chatswood may be a quieter alternative to the main Sydney shopping areas but it still offers an equal range of things to buy. There are many cafes and places to eat in this salubrious northern district.
